James E. Alver, M.D.

Dr. Alver graduated from the University of Miami School of Medicine in 1985. He was salutatorian of Northeast High School in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1975. In 1979, he received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. He received his training in general surgery and urology at the Brookdale Hospital Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York from 1985 to 1991, and has been in private practice in Brandon and Sun City Center since then.

Dr. Alver became board certified in urology in 1993 and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He was elected a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2000. Dr. Alver has been very active in urologic research and has published many scientific papers. He has presented his work at many national and local meetings. His is a member of the American Urological Association, both the National and the Southeastern Section, the American Society of Clinical Urologists, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, the American Medical Association, and the Hillsborough County Medical Association.
