Florida Urology Partners is proud to announce that Amanda Rust, BSN, RN, Director of Clinical Systems, has been selected to present at the American Nursing Informatics Association (ANIA) Annual Conference, taking place in March. Poster presentation, “Scorecards Then and Now: Bridging Tradition with Innovation,” examines the evolution of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) framework within healthcare organizations.
The Balanced Scorecard is a strategic management tool designed to align organizational goals with measurable outcomes across key domains, including financial performance, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient experience. Mrs. Rust’s work demonstrates how business intelligence solutions, specifically Microsoft Power BI, can modernize traditional reporting models by integrating data from multiple sources into dynamic, interactive dashboards.
The research project followed a three-phase progression, beginning with the absence of a formal metric tracking system, advancing to manually maintained scorecards using Excel and PowerPoint, and ultimately culminating in the implementation of Microsoft Power BI. The result of this project enhanced leadership visibility into key performance indicators on a near real-time basis, strengthened accountability through data-driven performance discussions, and improved operational efficiency.
Additional outcomes included improved trend analysis, role-based dashboard views tailored for leadership, physicians, and administrators, and interactive filtering capabilities that allow performance evaluation by clinic, provider, and time period.
Mrs. Rust’s selection to present at ANIA underscores the impact and relevance of her work in advancing nursing informatics and healthcare analytics. Florida Urology Partners congratulates Amanda on this professional achievement and recognizes her continued contributions to innovation and data-driven care delivery.
