Mohammed K. Zahra, MD, FACRO

Dr. Mohammed K. Zahra, MD, FACRO is a board-certified radiation oncologist with decades of experience in cancer treatment, clinical leadership, and academic collaboration. Dr. Zahra has dedicated his career to advancing cancer care while supporting community-based oncology programs. Dr. Zahra earned his medical degree from Damascus Medical School in Damascus, Syria. Following medical school, he completed an internship at Damascus University Hospital and served in the Medical Institution of the Ministry of Defense in Syria, practicing general medicine. After relocating to the United States, he continued his medical education and training while preparing for the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification and the FLEX examination.

Dr. Zahra pursued advanced academic training at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles within the Department of Physiology and Biophysics before completing his residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, where he served as Chief Resident. His residency provided extensive experience in radiation oncology, cancer treatment planning, and multidisciplinary patient care.

Throughout his career, Dr. Zahra has maintained strong ties to academic medicine, collaborating on clinical research and supporting academic initiatives.
